Just in case you haven’t been following Carrie Feldman’s support blog, we wanted to give a heads up on two development’s in the grand jury proceedings.
1) A judge denied Carrie’s motion to be released while the results of her appeal were pending, but a decision on the appeal is due by the end of the month-hopefully she will be victorious!
2) Scott Demuth, who was previously a resister of this grand jury, and who is now facing an indictment from it, has found a lawyer but needs dough! Specifically, $10,000 for their retainer(which is relatively cheap). Please think about making a contribution to support our comrades, and check out more info here.
For New York City, no news for now, but keep checking this site for regular grand jury updates, and don’t forget-
If you or anyone you know is approached by the FBI regarding this grand jury, please get in touch with us at grandjuryinfo[at]gmail.com
1. Scott is out!
2. Update on Carrie

1. Scott’s been released!
We have great news! Just a little while ago, District Court Judge John Jarvey affirmed the release order for Scott DeMuth that was issued last week, clearly telling Federal Prosecutor Cliff Cronk that his attempts to incarcerate Scott for his political beliefs didn’t pass muster in court. Even better than the legal victory is Scott being returned to us!

Two people who appeared before a federal grand jury this morning were taken into custody after they refused to testify.
Carrie Feldman, 20, and Scott DeMuth, 22, both from the Twin Cities, were jailed for civil contempt.
After their appearances before the grand jury, the two were brought into open court. The two had refused to testify in the secret proceeding. They then were offered limited immunity for their testimony in order to compel them to talk, but they still refused. That led to the civil contempt.
They will be held indefinitely or until they agree to testify.

Two dear comrades, Carrie Feldman and Scott DeMuth, are subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury in Davenport, Iowa this coming Tuesday, November 17. The prosecutor has not disclosed the pretext for the subpoena, though it appears that it may be connected to the FBI investigation of an Animal Liberation Front action that occurred at the University of Iowa in 2004—when Carrie and Scott were barely in high school.
A lesson in dealing with interrogation.
On Monday, November 9th, a small group of comrades staged an info session on grand juries in New York City’s Washington Square Park from 3pm to 6pm. The info session took place in order to spread the word about grand juries – targeting specifically revolutionaries – that are secretly assembling throughout the country. We distributed several pamphlets and flyers explaining the grand jury process and another on revolutionary solidarity and informally spoke about the situation with the several dozen people who stopped by the info table.
New School student and political organizer Jerry Koch, who has been active at the New School, as well in New York, has recently been harassed and threatened by the FBI, and is currently facing the possibility of having to testify before a federal grand jury investigation
